The Stock Pot — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026. This policy covers The Stock Pot app for Android and Windows, made by Niagara Indie Apps. It applies to both editions: the one on Google Play and the one downloaded from niagaraindieapps.com. All recipes are built into the app. It does not need an account, and it makes no network requests for its recipe features by default.

Your saved recipes, collections, shopping list, ratings, notes, and settings (such as theme) are stored only in the app's local storage on your device. The app does not upload them anywhere.

The Stock Pot contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash-reporting services, and no location tracking. It does not use your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.

If you enter a recipe-image web address in Settings, the app downloads recipe images from that address and caches them on your device. Leave the field empty and the app stays fully offline.

Stock Pot Pro is sold in the Google Play edition through Google Play Billing, which talks to Google Play when you open the Pro screen or buy. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy; the app only receives confirmation that Pro is owned, and stores that on your device. The Google Play edition has no trial, never contacts our servers, and does not use this website's checkout.

The edition downloaded from niagaraindieapps.com includes a free 3-day trial. To run it, the app stores the time you first opened it and the last time it ran, plus a random ID it creates, in the app's local storage on your device. That ID is not a hardware, advertising, or Windows product ID. Nothing is sent to us during the trial.

After the trial, the website edition is unlocked with a license bought on this website. When you activate a license, the app sends the following to our license server at niagaraindieapps.com: • your license key • this app's ID • the random device ID described above • the platform (Android or Windows) and the app version When the app later re-checks the license while online, or when you remove a device, it sends only your license key and that device ID. Our server stores a one-way hash of the device ID, the platform, the app version, and when the device was activated and last checked. It also records the IP address of each license request in a license activity log. We use this only to verify your license, enforce its limit of 2 devices, and prevent license abuse. Your recipes, notes, and shopping list are never sent.

Website licenses are bought on niagaraindieapps.com. The information you give at checkout (such as your email address) is covered by the site-wide Privacy Policy at niagaraindieapps.com/privacy. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and we never receive your full card number.

Share passes a recipe to the app you choose. Print uses your device's print service. Back up your data writes your recipes, collections, shopping list, ratings, notes, and preferences to a file you save where you choose, and Restore from a backup reads only a file you pick. Nothing is shared unless you do it yourself.

Settings → Clear personal data permanently removes your saved recipes, collections, shopping list, ratings, and notes from your device. Uninstalling The Stock Pot also deletes them. To free a device from your license, use niagaraindieapps.com/license/manage. To ask us to delete the license records we hold, contact us as described below.

The Stock Pot is a general-audience cooking app and is not directed at children.

If a future version of The Stock Pot changes how it handles data, we will update this page before that version is released.
